Shipping Manager, Logistic

Role Purpose:

Shipping Manager is a key role, who is responsible to manage the shipping function to ensure smooth day-to-day shipping operations and handles trade compliance topics

Major Responsibilities:

• Plan and propose overall shipping, transportation and distribution strategy
• Manage daily shipping and transportation operations, own and constantly review the end-to-end shipping process
• Set, prepare and present KPI reports for shipping, freight forwarders and transporters
• Suggest solutions for process optimization
• Supervise and oversee shipping team members
• Review and control shipping and distribution costs
• Build and maintain professional relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders (such as warehouse workers, vendors, purchasing managers, suppliers, sales teams etc.)
• Actively drive for more reliable and faster route options with freight forwarders
• Actively manage and provide the best transportation costs for P+F via, but not limited to:
  • Actively monitor the rate development in the transport market
  • Frequently request for quotations (RFQ) and negotiate for best rates with 3^rd party service providers for all domestic, regional and international routes, in alignment with Sales, Procurement, regional Shipping members and aligned with GTM team
  • Actively participate and align strategies and costs negotiation with the Global Transport Management (GTM) Team and Procurement
• Manage local projects and actively participate in global projects
• Work together with regional and global shipping managers to effectively and efficiently move goods to destinations
• Identify shipping issues, report and implement solutions in a timely manner

Requirements:

• Degree in Business management, logistics or supply chain
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Shipping Managers or similar role
• Hands on experience in budgeting and reporting
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of Incoterms is essential for this role
• Knowledge of logistics operations and shipping procedures and documentation
